Better late than never I guess?? We only got back from vacation three weeks ago! I posted almost every day in March and then slacked off for a while. Ooops! But I still wanted to post about vacation.
We had a great visit to southern Illinois over spring break. Aunt Julie, Uncle Tim and the boys and Uncle Jeff all came. It all went too fast of course! Too bad we can’t see this part of the family more often.
Allie lost a tooth while we were there! Its her fifth lost tooth.
She was very happy the tooth fairy knew where to find her.
Thursday night when Carson and Cole were still there, we colored Easter eggs.
One of the fun activities at Grandma and Grandpa’s is board games. We played a lot of Sorry. There are conflicting feelings as to who was the champion, but Mama won the most games. Of course, some of the boys have conflicted feeling about “official” games. Meaning games they lost, of course. 🙂 Anyway, Allie tried Sorry and did pretty well. I think we need to get that one at home.
Spring came to Carterville about a month before it came to Madison. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there aside from a lot of rain on Thursday morning. Saturday morning I finally got out for a run. It felt great to get moving after eating so much junk all week. It was so pretty running through the park and especially the flowered trees!
There isn’t much to Carterville, but its a cute downtown!
Saturday afternoon we went to the movies, which was an adventure since we took Peyton. He did well for the most part, though I think he ate too much candy, so he was kinda cranky after. We saw Zootopia and we all enjoyed it.
After the movie we went to this awesome castle park since it was so nice. Its a really neat park!
There’s a big dragon that the kids both climbed on for a while. I thought it was too big for both of them! I had to help Peyton a bit, but not as much as I thought.
Then it was Easter Sunday. We had to drive home that day, but we still did Easter baskets and an indoor egg hunt.
As much fun as we had, these kids were happy to get home to their own beds!
